School of Pharmaceutical, Molecular and
Biomedical Sciences
Welcome to the homepage of the School of
Pharmaceutical,
Molecular and Biomedical Sciences.
This School was formed in January 2001 from the
amalgamation of the former School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Science and the School of
Chemical Technology.
The amalgamation brings together two Schools that
have provided high quality undergraduate and postgraduate education programs for more than
30 years. The amalgamation will facilitate
growth and development of programs to equip Australian and international students to meet
the challenges of the 21st Century.
Programs offered are the well-established Bachelor
of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry and
Chemical Process Technology) programs and the more recently introduced Bachelor of
Pharmaceutical and Medical Biotechnology. A
Diploma in Applied Science (Applied Chemistry) is also offered. New programs to commence in 2003 are a Bachelor of Food Science and a Bachelor of Biomolecular Chemistry.
These undergraduate programs all have the aim of training skilled and knowledgable
professionals who have the ability to use their skills to establish a career serving the
community and who will continue to develop their professional knowledge and capabilities
throughout their careers.
Our course work postgraduate programs in Clinical
Pharmacy and Community Practice Pharmacy provide continuing professional development to
practicing pharmacists.
Doctoral and Masters degrees by research programs
are provided in all discipline areas of the School.
If you have any queries regarding any of our
programs, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of our experienced and willing
