Aims and Objectives Vision
To further develop the profile of the Quality Use of
medicines and Pharmacy Research Centre into a
nationally and internationally recognised centre.
Working within the context of the National Medicines Policy,
the QUMPRC will focus on research,
analysis and policy development in the area of quality
use of medicines and pharmacy research.
QUMPRC will aim to improve health outcomes associated with
medication use through research and consultancy in community, hospital, institutional,
industry and government settings.
Objectives
By 2003
the QUMPRC will have an international profile in all relevant areas of the National
Medicines Policy by:
- playing a significant role in advising on policy development of the
National Medicines Policy
- playing a significant role in policy analysis and the evaluation of quality use of
medicines in the community
- coordinating and facilitating the integration of the National Medicines Policy
principles into health service delivery
- disseminating the results of QUMPRC activities nationally and internationally, and by
incorporating those results into training and education programs
