Corporate Planning
Introduction
The provision of quality Higher Education by Australian universities is being undertaken in a climate of challenge and change. New opportunities and threats are constantly emerging to which the University must react quickly, carefully and decisively.
Our
institution-wide planning process is a vital element in ensuring that our
strategies are optimised, that the practices that support them are
continuously improving and that we remain focused on our vision.
Summary
UniSA's planning process involves a phase of Planning and then a phase of Review. This process forms a cycle of continuous improvement. The process is designed to:
-
Involve and engage staff, stakeholders and the community in our shared vision;
-
Reflect on our performances and position;
-
Enhance our understanding of our current and future operational environment;
-
Identify our strengths and weaknesses;
-
Facilitate innovation and improvement; and
-
Commit us to action
Put simply:
At an individual level, feedback and commitment is encouraged through performance management. Performance management plans are aligned to the goals and objectives of Division, School, Institute or Unit plans facilitated in some areas by team plans/operational plans. Work areas review their performance on at least an annual basis and summarise their findings in their Annual review report.
Plans are set in respect of the strategies made at the portfolio level and in accordance with the University's corporate priorities, detailed in the Corporate Plan. A summary of the organisation's performance is documented within the University's Annual report.
The Corporate plan provides the specific organisational strategies and objectives for the pursuit of the University's aspirations - reflected in the Vision, Mission and Values.
