Peer mentoring
The peer mentoring
project places UniSA undergraduate students in high schools for 2 hours
each week to work on negotiated projects with school students. UniSA
students can elect to do this course for which they can receive academic
credit. It provides mutual benefits for undergraduate students, school
students and UniSA. Undergraduate students gain accredited experience
and school students gain role models and valuable study opportunities.
The success of such programs also raises the profile of the University
generally.
Peer mentoring – Robotics
Building a real robot that is able to solve problems with its computer ‘brain’ is a great way for year 8-10 high school students to see what robotics is all about. Electrical and Information Engineering students from UniSA teach students through practical robot construction projects.
