Education Practicum Placements Collaboration
In 2005 UNAP facilitated the development of a Practicum Placements Committee
to identify issues and strategies to improve the northern Adelaide education
practicum placements experience from pre-school to year 12.
A group with representation from northern Adelaide public education sites,
DECS units and UniSA School of Education meet four times a year to discuss
issues and implement strategies. UNAP continues to provide support to this
Committee.
Outcomes have included changes to information provided to sites about
practicum placements; networking and information dissemination to promote
placements available; providing a calendar of placements; information
sharing; identifying issues and processes to improve the placement
experience for students and sites; and, identifying processes to collect
information about the practicum experience.
