Introduction

This procedure outlines the provision of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services to University employees, managers and supervisors.

The University has contracted Davidson Trahaire to provide confidential counselling services to all staff and their families via face to face, telephone, or online at www.eapdirect.com.au.

In addition to online counselling, eapdirect provides access to well being services, practical information regarding personal and work issues, and a self assessment tool that employees can use to gauge their status of personal well being.

The counselling service is available to assist staff to manage a range of personal and work related problems and includes relationship difficulties, work stress and trauma, managing change, conflict, career planning, alcohol and drug problems, financial and legal problems etc.

Staff may obtain assistance from the EAP provider in a number of ways including;

The counselling services provided by Davidson Trahaire Corpsych is provided free of charge to staff and their immediate family members. Initial counselling may suggest specialised assistance that is not free. The decision to accept the service remains with the staff member.

ManagerAssist

Managers and supervisors have access to a resource service called “ManagerAssist”. This service is designed to provide managers and supervisors with advice, suggestions and options for managing difficult circumstances and situations in the workplace involving employees.
