The mural near Reception in the School of Nursing and Midwifery on the 6th floor in the Centenary Building at the City East Campus was produced during a field trip to Pika Wiya Health Service and the Flinders Ranges by the nursing students studying Aboriginal Health in the Bachelor of Nursing.

The students, both Australian and International spent several days mixing with Aboriginal Elders telling them stories about their lives.
They were assisted by Indigenous lecturer (and artist) Colin Weetra to produce this artwork. Hours were spent each evening recording the events of the day.
Many experiences can be seen in the artwork. Every drawing means something, but to note just a few:

And much, much more!! Although the students left their own imprint on
this large mural, the whole visit made a bigger impact on the group than
any other single facet of the course.
They subsequently completed their clinical field work with a much
greater understanding of their clients than ever before.
