International Clinical Placements

Health TestsInternational clinical placements for nursing and midwifery students are restricted by the Nurses Board of South Australia (NBSA) regulations.  These regulations require students to be facilitated/supervised during their placement by a nurse or midwife registered with the NBSA.

In addition, the University needs to have a clinical agreement with the venue students are placed and the international venue must comply with UniSA insurance (indemnity) coverage.    This is to protect the student(s) and the University in case of an adverse event.

As a consequence of in-country laws we cannot place students in many countries for example North America (USA & Canada) and Singapore.

The School only offers international placements with countries where agreements with health departments exist.  This does not include New Zealand or the UK/Ireland.
