Julieta Jacob, ARNTP Graduate
I am very proud to be graduating today from the Australian
Registered Nurse Training Program (ARNTP). My husband, Ciprian
Jacob, graduated from this program in April 2008. He then came back
to Romania and collected me and our two children and we returned to
Australia so that I could complete the program.
I worked as a nurse in an Accident and Emergency department in
Romania. I found the program very good and I really liked the
discipline. All the staff were very supportive, particularly with
English being my second language (ESL) and I felt very prepared.
My clinical placement was in a surgical ward which was outside of my
previous experience. It gave me the opportunity to test my skills,
improve my English and see if I would like to work in another area.
I now definitely know I want to remain working in an Accident and
Emergency department.
The hardest part I found was to prove my skill base because of my
language skills, but I am working to improve this with the
assistance of CELUSA. When I pass my English language requirements I
will be applying for registration from the Nurses Board of South
Australia (nbsa) and for a job in an Accident and Emergency
department in a hospital in South Australia.
