Bachelor of Nursing

Nurse with child

The University of South Australia's Bachelor of Nursing program has been designed to prepare nurses to meet healthcare delivery requirements in the 21st century and respond to Australian and international healthcare trends.

As well as studying contemporary theory, in both a traditional and online environment, students undertake a range of practical learning experiences through simulation-based learning in nursing laboratories and placements.

Nurses play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals who are sick, injured or in need of health support programs. Nurses work in a variety of healthcare settings including community health centres, hospitals, aged and rehabilitative care facilities, industrial sites, schools and the homes of individuals.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of South Australia employs an academic team that maintain close associations with industry within their area of speciality to ensure our programs remain relevant to the changing needs of industry.  Clinical placements prepare graduates for their chosen profession.

We provide a range of study opportunities via innovative programs that offer diversity and can be accessed throughout the world via flexible delivery methods.  You can study full-time, part-time, internal, external or mix-mode and the materials are available online.  Our programs are flexible and you can change your mode of study throughout the program.   Academic staff within the School are experienced and skilled in teaching and supporting students.
