Policy for recognition of prior learning for credit, exemption and studies-in-lieu
Students must be enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery program before they can apply for credit. To assist you with planning your three year program you are advised to apply for credit at the beginning of the commencement of your program.
The last date for accepting credit application for assessment is 2 weeks after the commencement date of the course you are requesting credit. Applications after this date will not be considered.
Credit - Recognition of prior learning
Students who have undertaken previous study at Degree level and wish to apply for credit, are required to identify the similarities with the course content within the Bachelor of Midwifery program. Application for credit will need to be negotiated with the Program Directors.
Study completed within UniSA
Internal credit granted for studies taken internal to the University of South Australia do not appear on myUniSA and you are strongly advised to keep your agreement form in a safe place as documented evidence of the agreed credit.
Study completed outside UniSA
External credit granted for studies taken outside of the University of South Australia will appear on myUniSA information.

Course outline identifying the aims, objectives, and unit values that you consider meets the requirement of the course within the program that you are seeking credit.

Exemption
Exemption means receiving recognition for a portion of a course. That is, the student enrols in the course, pays full student contribution fees for the course, but does not have to complete all the requirements for the course. Students requesting exemption need to follow the directions set out in the application form below. Please go to the course home page for specific information identified under learning resources.
Exemption applications are mailed to the relevant course coordinator for the course in which you are applying for exemption.
