Frequently Asked Questions - Completing Students

Step-by-step information for students completing their Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery program:

1. Student eligibility
All students need to sure that their expected completion date is correct. You can make this change to this date in Enrol Online. This date is important as it ensures that the University is aware of your intention to graduate and in what Study Period they will be completing their degree. Campus Central will email all students expecting to graduate. It is important that students reply promptly to this email as it enables Campus Central to commence their eligibility checks.

2. Student status changes to “provisional”
Campus Central produce a report each study period showing all students who are eligible for completion (information gained from Step 1). It is this based on this report that Campus Central generates complete individual student records. Campus Central and the Program Administrative Officer: Year 3 manually examines each academic record to determine if each student meets the requirements of their degree. Once this is completed, students’ status is changed to provisional (on the basis that they successful complete any currently enrolled courses) and a database of completing students is generated.

3. Student status changes to “completed”
Once all final grades are entered, completing students enrolments are checked to ensure all requirements are meet. Campus Central is informed by the Program Administrative Officer: Year 3 that grades are entered and that student now meets all requirements of their degree. Student status now changed to “completed”.

4. Outstanding Debts / Bad Financial Standing (BFS)
All monies owed to the University, including overdue student loans, library fees or charges, must be paid before you can complete your degree. Students who are in bad financial standing will not be permitted to obtain their results, graduate, or their academic transcript.

5. Graduation
After your status has changed to completed, you will receive an email from the Graduations Office inviting you to register for your graduation. It is important that you read this email carefully and register via Graduations Online.

6. Academic Transcripts
All students are entitled to three free academic transcripts on completion of their degree. One transcript will be mailed to you when you have completed all requirements of your program and your status has changed to “completed” by Campus Central. This transcript will be sent out by the Graduations Office on the next transcript run. The additional two transcripts will be given out at the graduation ceremony, or posted out to you after the ceremony. All transcripts will be sent to your mailing address as recorded on myUniSA. Therefore please ensure that your mailing address is up-to-date.

Students requiring their academic transcript urgently can obtain one for a charge of $25.00 for one copy ($5.00 for additional copies ordered at the same time). This form can be obtained from Campus Central or online.

7. Completion Letter
International students requiring a completion letter can request one from Campus Central. This letter is in a standard format and complies with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship requirements. All letters will take 24 hours to produce and can either be picked up from Campus Central or posted to your mailing address.
