Checklist for new students

This is a general guide for all new students of UniSA.

Please note: Some students will receive School specific instructions during their orientation session which may duplicate or override information in this checklist.

What you need to do first

Have you...

Checked out the New Student Welcome area on your campus?

Made a copy of your School orientation schedule?

Participated in your orientation program and relevant workshops?

Checked that your enrolment  and personal details are correct using myUniSA?

Applied for credit for previous studies?

Checked that your study load is correct (Important for international students and domestic students receiving Centrelink payments)?

Made a copy of your class timetable?

Made sure you are aware of the census date, and its importance?

Researched and applied  for grants and scholarships you may be eligible for?

Collected your student ID card and Bag of Tricks from Campus Central?

Collected a student diary from UniLife?

Arranged after hours access to computer pools?

Have you...

Looked at the Resources and FAQs pages on the New Students website?
- a great way to arrange any specific services you need and prepare for upcoming challenges before they become problems.

Looked for advice that is directly relevant to you?
- There are many help sites for specific types of students (eg international, mature age, coming from high school, moving from TAFE to HE, studying with disabilities etc).

Familiarised yourself with the online environment?

Made a study plan?

Made yourself aware of the clubs and activities at UniSA?

Checked out sports and recreation at UniSA?

Said hello to someone you don't know on campus?

Attended social events planned on your campus?

Making your way around - using resources and other helpful hints

Made yourself familiar with MyUniSA student portal?
- the best way to check student notices, emails, forms, enrolment details, and results

Planned to regularly access UniSA key dates and timetables?
- a great way to keep track of events, activities and important dates.
