Singapore graduates celebrate distant studies at a local level

It will be a milestone for 109 Singapore graduates this week when they celebrate the completion of their University of South Australia degree studies at an official award ceremony on their own home turf.

The ceremony to be held at the Ritz-Carlton Millennia in Singapore at 7 pm Wednesday July 18, will honour the achievements of students from the University’s  divisions of Business and Enterprise, Education, Arts and Social Sciences and IT, Engineering and the Environment.

In all 38 of the graduates will receive a Masters qualification and four will be receiving a doctorate.

The keynote speaker at the awards ceremony will be well known journalist Dr Chitra Rajaram, now editor of the leading newspaper, Tamil Murasu. Dr Rajarun has played a key role in the executive of the Singapore Indian Association and is a PhD graduate in Business Management from the University of South Australia.

Both the University of South Australia’s Vice Chancellor Professor Denise Bradley and Chancellor David Klingberg will attend the ceremony along with senior managers from the University, Professor Kevin O’Brien Pro Vice Chancellor Business and Enterprise and other senior academics.

The University of South Australia celebrates its 10th Birthday this year and embraces a growing population of international students from 70 countries around the world.  

UniSA graduates in Singapore will get together to celebrate the 10-year birthday at the Ritz-Carlton Millennia, Raffles Avenue, Level 2, on Tuesday 17July from 6.45pm.
