Engineering peers honour David Klingberg
Former
UniSA Chancellor David Klingberg AM was named South Australian
Professional Engineer of the Year at the 2008 Engineering Excellence
Awards dinner at the Hilton Adelaide on Saturday night.
Presented by Engineers Australia (SA Division), this prestigious award acknowledges the highest level of individual achievement in the engineering field and is peer recognition of David Klingberg’s outstanding contribution to the profession.
“Over his career David, has demonstrated excellence in technical engineering, provided leadership to the engineering profession and the community and has enhanced the education of future generations of professional engineers,” Engineers Australia (SA Division) President Bill Filmer said.
UniSA Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Høj congratulated David Klingberg on the award.
“David Klingberg has not only made an invaluable contribution to the success of the University of South Australia, he has given – and continues to give – distinguished service to his profession and to the community at large,” Prof Høj said.
“Well done, David, on this well-deserved honour.”
Winners of the South Australia Division Professional Engineer of the Year Award are eligible to enter the National Professional Engineer of the Year Award.
