Bachelor of Sustainable Environments
(Biodiversity and Park Management
What does it take?
There are no formal Year 12 prerequisite subjects, and none of the
first-year courses assumes prior knowledge, but completion of one or
more of the Year 11 or 12 subjects Sustainable Futures, Biology or
Geography would provide good grounding.
Other personal qualities and
experience that provide good background are: involvement in clubs
and societies; participation in voluntary work in the community;
activities such as hiking or orienteering.
There is a very supportive learning environment, with highly
qualified internationally experienced staff, and high levels of
student satisfaction with teaching quality. Extensive on-line
materials are provided to support on-campus activities. Our students
are typically enthusiastic and passionate, which makes the academic
environment very friendly, positive and motivating.
Professional
work experience undertaken during the degree ensures students have
the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in the workplace
and at the same time develop their professional connections.
If you are from a regional area and can demonstrate financial hardship
as a result of having to leave home to study, you are able to apply
for
Commonwealth Learning Scholarships or
UniSA Study Grants to
assist with accommodation and general education costs. These are
designed to supplement existing Youth Allowance, Austudy or Abstudy
payments.
