
Professor Stephen Hamnett
Director, Planning
Professor Hamnett is Professor of Regional and Urban Planning at the University of South Australia and has more than 20 years experience in planning. He has held professional and academic positions in Europe, USA and Australia. Professor Hamnett has academic and consulting experience in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.
His key interests are the comparative study of planning law and practice, urban design policies, and metropolitan and strategic planning. Professor Hamnett is former President of the Royal Australian Planning Institute (SA) and was a member of the steering committee which produced the current Planning Strategy for Metropolitan Adelaide. He is a member of the Commonwealth Government's Better Cities Evaluation Committee.
Mr George Zillante
Director, Building
Mr Zillante is Senior Lecturer in the School of Building and Planning at the University of South Australia. He is an experience architect, builder, building surveyor and town planner, has directed his own company, and managed the Architecture and Building Department of the Unley City Council.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors, former Chair of the Architects Advisory Service, deputy chair of the Building Advisory Committee of DPAC and editor of BIAS - the professional magazine of the AIBS.
