I
decided to study in Australia because I knew that Australian
universities had a strong reputation internationally. Also, I wanted to
study in an environment where I would feel comfortable and enjoy my
studies.
The size and atmosphere are what appealed most to me about Adelaide. It
is a place where you can get around easily and enjoy life, without
having to spend too much. In Adelaide, I can enjoy simple things, like
clean air, good food, and a lot of beautiful scenery.
The Masters program offered at UniSA is a joint program, which draws on
expertise of faculties at three universities in Adelaide. My studies
have centred on the strong program here at UniSA, where I have studied
hydrology, water quality and water treatment. But I’ve also learnt about
ground water and its modelling at other institutions.
To gain experience in the water treatment field, I am involved in a
project at United Water, a company that operates six water treatment
plants in Adelaide. This project is related to enhanced coagulation and
it is a collaborative research effort between the Cooperative Research
Centre for Water Quality and Treatment (CRCWQT), United Water, Sydney
Water and SA Water.
The open relationship between faculty and student is what I have been
most impressed by here at UniSA. There are so many opportunities to
speak with and learn from faculty staff. The open academic review system
provides an opportunity to get meaningful feedback from your
instructors. In addition, the Learning Connection provides several types
of training that help us, as new students, both to settle into life in
Adelaide, and to perform at our best academically.
