Geomechanics and Pavement Laboratories
This facility consists of seven laboratories that include:
- Soil and aggregates preparation area for compaction, density and
sieving
- Oedometers for shrink and swell of soils with computerized data
loggers
- Standard triaxial loading systems
- Computer controlled triaxial system for stress path testing
- Computer controlled resilient modulus machines for bound and
unbound materials with on sample axial and radial strain measurement
- Soil classification equipment
- Constant temperature rooms for dew point psychrometers and fine
analysis
- Computer controlled micro-step shear box system
- Mobile hydraulic drill rig with ability to sample to 5M
- Neutron Moisture Density Gauge
- Rock mechanics test equipment.
