The annual Spaghetti Bridge Building Competition was
held on Friday, 3 April at Mawson Lakes, providing all second year Civil
Engineering students with the opportunity to demonstrate what they have
achieved during their studies to date.
Professors Patrick James and Simon Beecham welcomed a number of industry visitors and sponsors to the event, with Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (DTEI) engineers Peter Wilson and Alistair Paul judging each entry.
Ultimately, the winners were Group 27 who crafted the strongest and most structurally-sound spaghetti bridge. Congratulations to Heath Dedicoat, Aaron Foster, Timothy Hensel and Sarah Hollis.
Special thanks is extended to event sponsor Chris Tan of CTC Consulting and Mr Terry Lucke who organised and facilitated this event.
