Mr Tony Ma has received his examiners reports for his DPM thesis and
he has been passed subject to minor amendments. He will graduate in
August of this year, bringing the total of Doctorates for the CPM
discipline to five in the last 18 months. Congratulations Tony.
- Assoc Prof George Zillante, Assoc Prof John Boland and Mr Martin
Freney from the School of Architecture have been successful in
winning a $5,000 seeding grant to scope the design & construction of
an Earthship Research Site.
- Assoc Prof Linda Zou has been successful in receiving research
grant of $50,000 from Smart Water Fund. The fund will be used to
conduct the second stage of a research project on alternative
membrane treatment process to produce low salt and high nutrient
vale fit for purpose recycled water. The project will be
collaborating with City West Water in Victoria and Victoria
University and will commence in 2009 and last for 10 months.
- Dr Jian Zuo’s and Dr Delene Weber’s applications to the 2009
Early Career Researcher Development Program were successful.
- A paper by Usama Abu Risha (PhD student), Assoc Prof Ian Clark
and Prof Simon Beecham was awarded best paper in its category at an
International Groundwater Conference in Cairo, Egypt.
- Dr Matthew Rofe and Assoc Prof Jon Kellett have won a tender to
carry out research for the Adelaide Active Living Coalition, which
looks at the evidence base for open space provision which will
foster active lifestyles in medium to high density urban areas.
