The School of NBE welcomes new School Executive Officer, Kerry Henderson.
Where do you come from?
I have spent the last 2 years with the Student System Upgrade project,
and prior to that spent 8 years managing the Campus Central office at
Mawson Lakes. I have worked with Heads of School, Heads of Units, Pro
Vice Chancellors, in Student Records Offices, Graduation Office,
Finance, Admissions (the list goes on) and even spent 2 years as the
President of the Students Association at Magill Campus (SACAE).
What are you looking forward to in 2009?
I love to learn. I’m keen to pick up as much new knowledge as possible
and hope the people I make contact with will be able to assist me in my
quest.
What do you consider your greatest accomplishments?
Not sure that I have any “great’ accomplishments but I think I do OK in
most areas I work in or I spend time on. People invite me back or hear
about me and invite me to join them in their activities so I tend to use
that as a measure of how well I’m going.
What are your favourite pastimes?
Reading, watching TV, creative writing, spending ‘quiet’ time with
family and friends (my party days are over). I use to play the cello
when I was younger and now like to listen to classical music that
involves that instrument.
What is your favourite worldly destination?
I love Alaska. I have travelled a lot over the past 20 years and have
never seen such amazing natural scenery as I did when I cruised through
that area in 2005.
