The research program is directed to generating policy solutions and programs in facilitating Muslim and non-Muslim understanding in Australia's complex multicultural society. The Centre is building a national research capability drawing upon the best international scholarship in support of effective solutions for community based programs on reconciliation and social harmony. To these ends the research will seek to integrate a comprehensive view of the national and international issues, trends and possible responses.
The research will be undertaken by scholars appointed to the Centre for durations appropriate to their research requirements, programs and objectives.
The research programs will be developed and reported through a range of symposia, periodic seminars, specialist workshops and international conferences as well as published in leading refereed journals and international book publishers.
The Centre will, as part of its international research program, provide funding to support at least 10 PhD scholarships for high achieving students in both the national and international community.
