Professor Lynn Batten holds the Deakin Chair in Mathematics. Her research interests include combinatorial geometry, computer network security and computational chemistry. As Associate Dean for Academic and Industrial Research at the University of Manitoba, her former institution, she established a number of agreements between the University and various industry and government sectors.

  • Data compression (ADInstruments)
  • Potash crystallization (Saskatchewan Potash Corporation)
  • Incremental verification of scientific computer codes (Atomic Energy of Canada)
  • Cryptographic systems (Contract work for Wanted World Wide)
  • Established a major research contract between the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba and the pharmaceutical company Apotex.
  • Established an internship program for students in the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba and the Canadian Communications Security Establishment
