Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics

Research Groups

The Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (CIAM) incorporates six special research groups:

Each group provides focus for specialist mathematical research and consulting in particular fields of industrial and applied mathematics.  A common theme across all groups is an emphasis on mathematical and computer modelling techniques.

About the Centre

The Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics has active research programs in a wide cross-section of topics, from the general areas of Applied Statistics, Mathematical Analysis, Control Theory, Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, Optimisation, and Perturbation Theory.

For a complete list of current research interests, please refer to the pages of our research groups and individual staff members. The services offered by the Centre include research, consultancy, and education in many areas of business and industry where efficiency of operation is essential for maintaining a competitive edge.

Our scientists have attracted numerous research grants. Groups and individuals have well-established collaborations with industrial partners and universities both in Australia and overseas.
