Viability of singularly perturbed control systems
(J-P Aubin, V Ejov, J Filar, H Frankowska, V Gaitsgory, P Howlett, M Quincampoix)
The purpose of this project is to match averaging techniques for singularly
perturbed control systems and the viability approach which is the focus of
research interests of Jean-Pierre Aubin and Helene Frankowska.
We plan to develop an averaging technique which would allow one to efficiently deal with problems of viability/capturability and optimality in the situation when controls can be only used in accordance with an inertial cascade principle (that is, in order of the levels of their inertia); the situation arising in many social, biological and other applications.
An application for funding this project has been submitted to a French Embassy in Canberra.
