Analytic perturbation theory and applications

In this area Jerzy Filar and Phil Howlett are collaborating with Kostya
Avrachenkov (their former PhD student, now at INRIA) to continue their
"series expansion approach" to a variety of perturbed problems (in linear
operator theory, mathematical programming and other applications).
It was decided that rather than to try to publish a sequence of disjointed papers, it would be better to present a unified treatment in a post-graduate level text book.
A contract has been signed with the Society of Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) publisher to produce such a book by January 2004, for their prestigious Studies in Applied Mathematics Series.
