Who do you work for?
CEVA Logistics

What do you do? What are your main roles, responsibilities, duties, etc?
My position is a graduate rotational role.  A program has been set up to spend 7-9 weeks in each division of the business.  My first role is looking after 2 projects, a Lean project which focuses on process improvement in one of the warehouse contracts to achieve improvements in cost, time and quality.  My role is to conduct time and motion studies on each process in the warehouse with a heavy emphasis on detailed analysis of this data to capture scheduling and performance opportunities within the business.  My second project is a consolidation project where I am working closely with one of the floor operators to consolidate and improve warehouse layout to increase efficiency and improve order-picking response time in the warehouse.

What are your plans for the future?
  • I believe my scholarship at CEVA is going to provide me with hands-on industry experience which will provide me with a pivotal foundation for a successful career.  I would then like to undertake a Masters of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at UniSA part-time to further develop my enthusiasm and knowledge for the field and to advance my career prospects in the industry.
  • I would like an extremely versatile operational role that required me to use strong problem-solving and communication skills, develop my people management skills by managing a group of people, be heavily involved with supporting the customer and  analysing and reporting both the financial and operational effectiveness of the end to end supply chain.
Did you participate in any field placements, work experience, industry projects, etc as part of your study? How did these experiences benefit you?
Not besides my scholarship, no.

No.

How did you find UniSA teaching staff (eg, industry experts, supportive, helpful, etc)?
My tutors and lecturers at UniSA had a wealth of knowledge as well as broad and variable experience and skills in the logistics and supply chain field.  They went above and beyond that of being teachers, acting as mentors to me and instilled a passion in me for the field of logistics.  They continually motivated and supported not only my studies at Uni but also were always available to offer advice in career opportunities.
