
Generally applicants are required to have completed an undergraduate degree in a relevant field. We acknowledge, however, that a large number of people working in the arts industry do not have formal tertiary qualifications so applicants with significant work experience in lieu of undergraduate qualifications, will be considered.
The Arts and Cultural Management program was established in 1979 and is not only the oldest but also the largest program of its kind in Australia. Our graduates work in many and varied positions in arts and cultural organisations both in Australia and internationally. There are graduates working in management positions in museums, galleries, symphony orchestras, ballet companies, opera companies, theatre companies, arts centres and festivals.

In addition, we also offer a comprehensive research degree program supporting either Masters or PhDs by Research in arts and cultural management and/or cultural policy. To support this, as well as provide an important resource for arts and cultural management and cultural policy research internationally, we have initiated an online academic research journal, the Asia Pacific Journal of Arts and Cultural Management, which promotes research publication and discourse throughout the region.
