School of Management Wins SA Tourism Award
Friday December 5, 2008
The School of Management has won the 2008 SA Tourism Award for Education and Training.
The annual SA Tourism Awards recognise excellence in the Tourism and Event industries.
Since 1993, the School of Management's partnerships with businesses, the community, State Government and Le Cordon Bleu have made it possible to position South Australia as the centre of excellence for tourism, events and hospitality management education.
Associate Head of School, Stephen Boyle, says the award is a significant industry achievement.
"It shows that we are able to provide industry relevant programs and produce graduates that actively contribute to tourism locally, nationally and internationally."
The school's wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate management programs were instrumental in its success.
As a state winner, the school will compete against other interstate finalists at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards next year. The ceremony will be held in Melbourne at Crown on February 27th, 2009.
