Rights and responsibilities
The University of South Australia is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities in Higher Education. The University has established the Students with disability (Policy No. C-7.4) to support this access.
The rights of students with disabilities to study in an harassment free environment with appropriate access to services and support is outlined in the Commonwealth Disability Discrimination Act (1993) and the Disability Standards in Education(2005).
Students are responsible for notifying the University in a timely manner of any disability related needs. Information about processes for negotiating services can be found at the Getting Started link on the left hand navigation.
The University provides Ombud services free of charge for students who believe that they have been unfairly treated by the University.
