On arrival reception

On Arrival Reception is a free service available to all new international students and immediate dependents arriving in Adelaide for the first time. By booking for this service online you can arrange to be met at the airport, bus or train terminal and taken to temporary accommodation that you have organised.

The On Arrival Reception Office is open Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm; it is closed on weekends and Australian public holidays. The On-Arrival Reception Service is provided 7 days of the week but the services must be booked at least three (3) days prior to your arrival.

How do I arrange my On Arrival Reception?

You can book On Arrival Reception by completing an Online On Arrival Reception Booking Form located on the University's website. You will need to submit your booking at least 3 days before your arrival in Adelaide.

How do I know if my On Arrival Reception has been booked?

Once you have completed the Online On Arrival Reception Booking Form an automatic response will be generated. If you send an On Arrival Booking Form via email or fax the On Arrival Reception Coordinator will confirm your booking by an automatic response email once your data is entered into the booking system.

What if I change my arrival details after confirmation has been received?

If your arrival details change, please access the On Arrival Reception Service website. Enter your UniSA Student Id number and your Family Name, then click the Login button and simply change your arrival details online. Alternatively, you should notify the On Arrival Reception Services Officer immediately by email: oar-coordinator@unisa.edu.au

New arrangements will be made only if the On Arrival Reception Coordinator is notified of a change in arrival details 3 days before you arrive in Adelaide.

Who will meet me when I arrive?

You will be met by a representative from the University. The meeting point for all international students who are arriving in Adelaide by aeroplane is at the Adelaide airport next to the South Australian Tourist information desk (close to the lower ground, main airport exit doors and elevators). A representative from the University will be at this meeting point holding a UniSA sign. The representative from the University will provide you with a Welcome Pack that contains information about where to go and who to see in the University.

What if I am arriving with family members?

Please note that the On Arrival Reception Service is only available to new international students and immediate dependents of the student such as a spouse or partner and children. Other family members and friends travelling with you will need to travel separately, at their own expense, to their arranged place of accommodation. The University can assist you with organising the transfer for other family members, however there may be a cost involved. Your transfer from the airport to your accommodation is free of charge. If your luggage exceeds the standard flight limit of 30-40 kg, and the transfer involves an additional vehicle, you may be charged for additional costs.

How can I fulfil my religious practices when I arrive in Adelaide?

Once you arrive in Adelaide you may need to find a place of worship. Information related to your religion can be found at the University's Religious needs website.

When do I have to be at University?

You will be advised about when you have to be at University in your acceptance letter. You can also find details about the orientation to UniSA for International Students by visiting the International students website.

What do I do if I arrive early?

While it is important that you arrive in time for your orientation to UniSA for International students program, if you wish to arrive well before orientation then you need to be aware that you will only have access to limited resources. How much do these services cost?

The On Arrival Reception service is free of charge for new International students and their immediate dependents.

If you use this service and are not eligible for it, you may be charged a standard fee of AUD$40 to $70 for the hire of a limousine with chauffeur. Standard taxi charges are between AUD$20 to $40, dependent upon the distance travelled.

Payment for accommodation is your responsibility.

Am I eligible for this service if I have been studying at another educational institution in Australia?

Yes, you are eligible for this service.

Am I eligible for this service if I am a continuing student or have studied previously at UniSA?

No. This service is provided to assist the settling-in process for student new to UniSA.
