Counselling Student Appointments
Counsellors offer a confidential and free service for UniSA students. We assist students with any issues that may affect their wellbeing or ability to study. Where possible we see students on the day if the matter is urgent.

What we do...
- listen to you and treat you with respect
- work together with you to help you resolve any problems that are impacting on your wellbeing or study
- assist you to develop skills to help you succeed in your studies (e.g. ways to manage exam anxiety)
- support requests for extensions or deferred exams when personal issues affect your studies
- provide you with information and/or referral to other services when specialised information or support is needed
Students attend counselling for a range of reasons including:
- personal issues affecting their study
- adjusting to living and studying in Adelaide
- support following a crisis or trauma
- motivation, time management and exam stress
- health and wellbeing
- managing stress, anxiety and depression
What we don't do...
- tell you what to do
- judge you
- share your personal information with others without your permission
Counselling Student Appointment
You can consult a Counsellor by booking a 30 minute appointment. Please phone the Learning and Teaching Unit on your campus to book a counsellor appointment in advance. When booking an appointment you will need to provide your name and student ID number.
Please note that during busy periods of the year appointments with LTU staff are filled quickly. In order for us to meet your needs, please ensure that you plan your consultations ahead of time. Appointments can be scheduled up to two weeks in advance. Urgent personal issues which require a counsellor will be dealt with immediately.
