About the Conference

The Corporate Law Teachers Association Conference is a 3 day conference. The Conference will be of interest to corporate law teachers in Law Schools and Business Schools, to legal practitioners interested in the field of corporate law, corporate law regulators and corporate law researchers.

The first day of the conference to be held on Sunday 7th February 2010 from 10.30am - 3.30pm will be a teaching workshop which will explore issues such as teaching to large and diverse groups of students, innovations in teaching and assessment, and curriculum issues. This session will be of particular interest to corporate law teachers in the higher education sector.

The second day of the conference will open with our keynote speaker, Professor Steven L Schwarcz from Duke University. Professor Schwarcz will discuss 'Connections and Consequences - The Global Financial Crisis and the Role of Lawyers'. Professor John Farrar, Emeritus Professor of Law from Bond University will follow with a presentation on 'The Development of an Appropriate Regulatory Response to the Global Financial Crisis'.

There will also be parallel sessions throughout Monday 8th - Tuesday 9th February focussing on special areas of interest such as comparative company law; insolvency and directors and officers' duties.

A conference dinner will be held on Monday 8th February 2010.

Non-CLTA members such as legal practitioners, regulators, students and researchers are welcome to attend the conference.
