MSc PhD Sofia, Bulgaria
Background
Rossen completed his PhD in physical and colloid chemistry with J.G. Petrov in Sofia (Bulgaria), studying the transition form steady-state wetting to film entrainment. He has spent several years at the Institute of Physical Chemistry (Sofia), working with D. Exerowa, studying the surface forces in foam films. He has spent periods at the University of Toronto (with A.W. Neumann), researching contact angles and surface energetics, and at the Technical University Berlin (with G.H. Findenegg), studying Gibbs layers of polymeric surfactants with ellipsometry and neutron reflectivity.
Rossen joined the Ian Wark Research Institute in 2000 as a Research
Fellow. His current research encompasses the wettability of rough and patterned surfaces, electrowetting, surfactant and polymer adsorption, and foam stability.
