Background
Dusan Losic has broad research interests that interface physical chemistry, electrochemistry, analytical chemistry and surface chemistry. His PhD at Flinders University (1999-2002) involved the study of self-assembled monolayers on gold and their application for building complex nanoarchitectures and biosensing devices. After completing his PhD he joined the Neurochemistry Research Group at Monash University (Dept of Biochemistry) as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to study the role of surface/interface interactions that cause the conformational changes and aggregations of Ab amyloids in relation to Alzheimer’s disease. He completed his postdoctoral experience at Flinders University working on the diatom project (ARC) where he pursued his research interest in bioinspired materials and nanostructures based devices, in particular related to molecular separation and biosensing.

Research Interests
Dusan's research interests are in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, encompassing several disciplines such as chemistry, material science, engineering, biology and medicine, where his expertise in electrochemistry and surface chemistry has been applied in addressing important issues in nano scale fabrication, molecular separation, self-assembly, and biosensing. His current research is focused on developing electrochemical nanofabrication approaches to design new nanoporous materials with unique structural, chemical, catalytic, and optical properties and their applications for building new devices and technologies for molecular separation, sensing/biosensing, drug delivery, catalysis and energy storage/conversion.
