International visiting students traineeship program
*Please
note that the traineeship program is full for 2009. Applications may be
submitted from September 2009, for commencement in 2010.
The traineeship program is available to senior undergraduate students or, in
some instances, postgraduate students from overseas universities/institutes
to undertake a research project in The Wark. The program is designed to
assist students to develop skills relevant to their tertiary education,
current occupation or field of study.
Subject to project availability, The Wark accepts up to 10 trainees at any
one time. The preferred duration of the traineeships is a minimum of six
months and a maximum of 12 months. Trainees are paid a subsistence allowance
of AU$300 per week. Trainees work under the supervision of at least two
academic supervisors. They may be required to provide written and verbal
progress reports outlining the work undertaken and the results achieved.
Trainees are expected to work between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm
Monday to Friday and will be entitled to 20 days recreation leave per annum
(on a pro-rata basis).
To participate in this program, students must be in the final stages of an
undergraduate degree, or are undertaking or have recently completed a
Master’s qualification, and have high achieving academic backgrounds that
are specifically suited to the research project on which they will work.
Preference will be given to students who
are participants in the
IAESTE program, followed by students from institutions that have
formal agreements with
The Wark and/or
formal
agreements with UniSA.
Travel and Health Insurance
Trainees are responsible for the booking and cost of all travel
arrangements, including visas. Trainees must ensure that they have adequate
personal travel/health insurance cover for the duration of their visit.
Documentation Required from All Applicants
In the first instance, students should check our
Research Sectors to ensure
their study interests correspond with at least one of the research sectors

Students will then need to supply the following documents to be considered
for entry into the traineeship program:
