Bachelor of science (Honours) (Nano and biomaterials)
The Ian Wark Research Institute has recently introduced an Honours program in Nano and Biomaterials. The program includes:
- lectures and workshops giving preparation in research methods relevant to laboratory-based research in the natural sciences;
- advanced courses in a range of relevant topics such as surface chemistry and nanoscience, materials science and nanomaterials, biomaterials and biophysical interactions, characterisation techniques, and applications of nano and biomaterials;
- a research project which makes up 50% of the year’s effort.
The Honours research project will be conducted within the world-class laboratories of The Wark, with each project supervised and supported by an individual researcher.
Entry to the Honours program is based on a strong record in a BSc, BEng or similar undergraduate degree with a specialisation in the chemical, physical, materials, biological, pharmaceutical or related sciences. Further details are available at:

Scholarships of AU$8,000 will be offered to the best applicants. A good result in the Honours program will qualify a graduate for direct entry into one of The Wark’s PhD programs. PhD scholarships are also available.
