Dr Catherine Whitby
Australian Research Council Future Fellowship
Catherine was one of three UniSA researchers awarded a prestigious Future Fellowship by the ARC. These Fellowships aim to retain and attract Australia's brightest and best researchers. The Fellowship provides approximately $700,000 to support Catherine and her research over a period of four years.

This award recognises commercial success and acceptance achieved through creating an innovative product, process or service.

Fresh Science Award
Fresh Science is a national competition that identifies new and interesting research being done by early-career scientists around the country and releases their stories to the media.  Craig was one of sixteen recipients from a field of 98 nominations from around Australia.

Laureate Professor John Ralston
Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering Clunies Ross Awards - Lifetime Contribution Award
John received this prestigious award in recognition of his long career in particle physics and colloid science and its application to the mining and mineral production industries as well as his research leadership.

John received the honour "for service to science and to scientific research, particularly in the field of physical chemistry and minerals processing, to education and the creation and application of new scientific knowledge to industry".

The South Australian of the Year is selected from both peer and public nominations and aims to celebrate the individual who has demonstrated a consistent record of excellence and outstanding achievement in their field of expertise and who can be regarded as a role model for other South Australians. John was the recipient for his outstanding contribution to scientific research.

South Australian Science Excellence Awards - Scientist of the Year
This was the first year this category has been awarded which recognises outstanding achievement in the area of “scientific research that significantly advances knowledge and has produced or has the potential to produce a commercial outcome and/or benefit to the community”.

Premier’s Science Excellence Award in Research Leadership
The Premier’s Science Excellence Awards recognise excellence in science and acknowledge commitment and skill in raising public awareness of science. These awards recognise our State’s best and brightest in the science community. 

Chemeca Medal for Outstanding Service and Contribution to Chemical Engineering
The Engineers Australia Chemical College, IChemE in Australia, SCENZ and RACI, in partnership with corporate sponsors, have instituted these awards to encourage and recognise excellence and to highlight the contribution made by Australian and New Zealand Chemical Engineers to the community. The Chemeca Medal is the most prestigious award in the Chemical Engineering community.

3rd Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards 
Most Outstanding Contribution to Mining in 2006 (inaugural award)
Finalist: Highly Commended – Minerals Processing Plant of the Year for 2006 (Mini Pilot Plant)
Reed Publishing produces a wide range of well known magazine titles, including ‘Australian Mining’. For the past three years, Australian Mining has given awards for services to the mining industry, although this is the first year for the category of Most Outstanding Contribution to Mining with Professor John Ralston the inaugural recipient of this award.
