Common First Year

UniSA have introduced a first year program of eight new core courses which are common to all of our Bachelor of Engineering degrees. The first year of study will provide a practice-centred foundation to engineering that will expose students to the breadth of engineering as well as the application of engineering in servicing the community.

Upon first year completion, students will have a solid understanding of the diversity of engineering and will be in a more knowledgeable position to choose a specialised field. Although students will commence in their nominated specialisation at the beginning of the first year an option to transfer to a different specialisation of their choice by the end of the first year, without additional time or cost, will be available.
