After authentication on the wireless network, Windows XP will store the user
name and password information permanently. This is very practical in cases
where you are the only one using the computer and if you never change your
password.
However, if you change your password or you're sharing the computer with someone else, you'll have to remove this information to prevent others from accessing the network with your user name and password. There is no built-in solution to resolve this problem except to delete a registry key.
This registry fix will only work for machines running Windows XP.
Please Note: Editing your registry can cause serious damage to your laptop, so only follow these steps if you have experience editing registry settings, have backed up your registry and have backed up any important work on your laptop.
You will have to delete this registry key each time you change your password or if someone else uses the computer via wireless.
