A duplex capable printer enables you to print on both sides of the paper and reduce paper usage. Not all printers are capable of duplex printing but many purchased by the University are. For some printers duplex printing will be turned on by default and in other cases single sided printing will be the default, in either case you can change these settings manually. The default setting can normally only be changed by your system administrator otherwise you will need to check the duplex setting each time you print.
Although each printer model is different, this guide will show you several examples of how you can manually change the printer duplex settings. If your printer is not capable of duplex printing the setting will not be available or will be greyed out.
From the application you wish to print from (eg Word) select Print.
