Who can use NVivo at home?
If you are a current UniSA staff member or student and are the primary user of a UniSA owned "on campus" computer system (ie not a shared computer) that is licensed for NVivo then the licence permits you to also install NVivo on your home computer. If you are not the primary user or do not have a UniSA owned "on campus" computer system you can still use NVivo on your home computer providing you apply for a NVivo licence for that system.
Home use Licence Conditions
- You must be the primary user of a UniSA owned "on campus" computer that is licensed to use NVivo OR you must have a separate licence for your home computer in order to be eligible for home use rights.
- A NVivo Software Licence Application form must be submitted (complete page one if you do not have a licence and complete page two to use NVivo on a privately owned computer).
- NVivo is only to be used for teaching, administrative and non commercial research purposes.
- UniSA licensed software is not to be used for personal purposes and cannot be used for commercial gain.
- Under no circumstances can application software or licence activation keys be copied from the University software distribution server and taken off site.
- You are not to make copies of, loan or distribute UniSA licensed software to third parties.
- UniSA licensed software is to be removed from home computer systems should the user leave the University.
- UniSA licensed software is to be removed from home computer systems should the relevant licence agreement expire, change or is discontinued.
- You will read and abide by the licence agreement(s) associated with this Software.
How to obtain a licence
If you are the primary user of a UniSA owned on campus computer system that has a current licence to run NVivo then you need only need to complete page 2 of the NVivo Software Licence Application form, this will then allow you to install NVivo on a privately owned computer. If you are not the primary user of a UniSA owned (ie has a Blue Plate) that is currently licenced for NVivo then you must complete both sides of the NVivo Software Licence Application form.
