What Microsoft products have home use rights?
Home use rights are available on Microsoft products covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. There are no home use rights for any products including server products under the Microsoft Select Agreement.
The following Microsoft software is available for home use:
- Microsoft Office Professional Suite 2010 (includes: Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Microsoft Office for MAC 2011
- *Windows operating system upgrade
- Microsoft SharePoint Designer
- Visual Studio Professional
Home use rights are also available for Macintosh products but only where Microsoft offers a corresponding product.
*To qualify for a Windows operating system upgrade your home PC must already have a qualifying Windows operating system licence. (eg. MS Windows XP Home OEM)
Who can use this software at home?
Only current UniSA staff are permitted to use the above software on their home computer.
Students do not have any work at home rights for Microsoft products covered by the Microsoft Campus Agreement, however, students can purchase Microsoft product licences and installation media covered by "Student Select Plus" or via the "It's Not Cheating" promotion. Home use Licence Conditions
- You must be a current UniSA staff member.
- Microsoft product installation media must be purchased from ISTS.
- UniSA licensed software is not to be used for personal purposes and cannot be used for commercial gain.
- Under no circumstances can application software or licence activation keys be copied from the University software distribution server and taken off site.
- You are not to make copies of, loan or distribute UniSA licensed software to third parties.
- UniSA licensed software is to be removed from home computer systems should the user leave the University.
- UniSA licensed software is to be removed from home computer systems should the relevant licence agreement expire, change or is discontinued.
- You will read and abide by the licence agreement(s) associated with this Software.
Installation Media
You'll need to complete a "Microsoft Work at Home Software Media Application" form and send it to the IT Help Desk. ISTS will mail to you the installation CD's once your form has been processed.

Cost
Microsoft "Work at Home" installation CD's cost $27.50 each.
Microsoft SharePoint Designer 2007 is available as a free download from the Microsoft web site.
Note: ISTS only accepts payment for Work at Home media by cost centre transfer. If for some reason you need to reimburse your cost centre you should speak to your local finance officer.
