PC Network Adaptor Policy
Introduction
The following network adapter policy applies to desktop computers, notebook/tablet computers and servers that connect to the University's wired network.
Policy
- An approved desktop, notebook/tablet or server system supplied by a designated PC supplier may be connected to the UniSA wired network using the on-board LAN adapter on the motherboard, alternatively an add-on card as recommended and supported by the system manufacturer can be supplied with the system.
- If the LAN adapter of a particular computer system causes problems, ISTS will require that system to have its onboard LAN adapter replaced or, disabled and replaced with an appropriate adapter as recommended by ISTS.
- If necessary, ISTS will withdraw approval for particular brands or models of motherboards or LAN adapters that are found to be causing problems.
