Remote Access Policy

Dameware provides remote access to UniSA staff computers allowing IT support staff to control the local computer while the caller observes what is happening to their machine. Explicit permission must be sought and obtained from the user before a remote connection is established and the user can terminate the connection at any time.

The IT Help Desk will use Dameware to gather further information before assigning a call to second level support where necessary, or to demonstrate tasks, functions or software to the local user. The IT Help Desk will respect local settings and will not change system defaults. This includes but is not limited to group policies, administrator rights, software installations, and default file locations.
