Examples
All the examples below assume there is at least one free side on a double
data point. If a new double data point needed to be installed then that
would add at minimum $450 to the total cost
Example 1
To install a new NEC 6 button phone in a location where there is already
a networked computer. Costs would be as follows
- New NEC 6 button phone $200
- No cost to activate the network point as there is
already a network point active for computer
- No NEC technician charges as the phone can be installed
by UniSA staff
Total Cost $200
Example 2
To install a new wireless SIP phone in a location where there is already
a networked computer. Costs would be as follows
- New Wireless SIP phone $300
- Wireless SIP phone can't share the same network port as
a computer so a new network point needs to be activated,
$185 (This assumes that the B side port of the double data
point is not being used)
- No NEC technician charges as the phone can be installed
by UniSA staff
Total Cost $485
Example 3
To install a new extension for a fax line in a location where there is a
unused A or B side of a double data point
- Activate the free port on the double data point for use
as an analogue line $450
- Assuming that we give NEC 4 days to install the
extension, NEC technician charges $120
Total Cost $570 plus
the cost of FAX machine
