Optus is UniSA's primary current provider for mobile phones as well as Internet data connection (within Australia) for mobile phones and wireless broadband for notebook computers. If you use your UniSA mobile phone to access data services such as your email, contacts or calendar, web sites or multimedia messages then you may need a mobile data plan for your phone. If you need a wireless broadband connection to connect your laptop computer to the Internet off campus you may also need a mobile data plan (and wireless broadband USB device) for your computer.
Optus provides 3G high speed broadband coverage in many parts of Australia. Visit the Optus coverage by street name website/ for details. Your 3G phone can still receive data in other areas with GPRS coverage but at a slower speed.
More information can be found at UniSA 3G Mobile Broadband Data Plan (UniSA staff only).
