How do I access UniSA email via IMAP?

This document will assist you to configure IMAP-capable email clients such as Microsoft Outlook 2007 to access your UniSA email.
The IMAP protocol allows mail to be stored on a central server, but manipulated using a client application from a PC located anywhere. Further information can be found on the what is IMAP web page.

Incoming Mail Server
All staff and students, both internal and external use the same incoming server name:
imap.unisa.edu.au
Outgoing Mail Server
You will use IMAP to receive email from UniSA email servers. Whilst any outgoing (sent) mail will appear to come from your UniSA account, it will actually need to be sent through your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) mail server, not the UniSA mail server.
Some common ISP mail servers are listed below, please consult your ISP's website or their helpdesk for this information if not listed here.

Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2007
- Select the Tools menu then select Account
Settings.

- Select New.

- Select Manually configure server settings or additional
server types then select Next.

- Select Internet E-mail then select Next.

- Type in your details as requested in the Internet E-mail
Settings section and select Next.

- Select Finish, then Close.

Your email should now download automatically to your Outlook 2007 client. Alternatively you can download your messages manually by selecting Send and Receive from the toolbar at the top.
