How do I access UniSA email via IMAP?

Return to: ISTS FAQ Home > Email

This document will assist you to configure IMAP-capable email clients such as Microsoft Outlook 2007 to access your UniSA email.

The IMAP protocol allows mail to be stored on a central server, but manipulated using a client application from a PC located anywhere. Further information can be found on the what is IMAP web page.

During this process you can get further assistance from the IT Help Desk:

Incoming Mail Server

All staff and students, both internal and external use the same incoming server name:

imap.unisa.edu.au

Outgoing Mail Server

You will use IMAP to receive email from UniSA email servers.  Whilst any outgoing (sent) mail will appear to come from your UniSA account, it will actually need to be sent through your Internet Service Provider's (ISP) mail server, not the UniSA mail server.

Some common ISP mail servers are listed below, please consult your ISP's website or their helpdesk for this information if not listed here.
