To obtain a licence and install SPSS you must submit a completed a Software Licence Application form (SLAF) to the IT Help Desk. You can download the SLAF from the SPSS licensing webpage. Once your SLAF has been processed you will be notified and be given access, along with your nominated installer, to the installation files. In due course you will also be sent a licence certificate to prove that you are entitled to use the product.
Note: You need to fill out a SLAF if you are upgrading your existing SPSS version from version 13 or earlier. (upgrades from version SPSS 14 or later do not require a SLAF to be completed.
Although there is no charge for SPSS your cost centre code is used in auditing purposes to track the licences which have been issued by the University. If you do not supply a cost centre code your Software Licence Application form (SLAF) will not be processed but instead will be returned to you for completion and resubmission.
If you need assistance you should log a service call online. This is the preferred way to log a service call to the IT Help Desk who will arrange assistance from your local IT support staff.
